Privacy and cookies
What we collect through this website, why, how long we keep it, and your rights.
01 Who we are
Electrical Testing Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We are a company registered in England, company number 2476049, at The Bridge, Acle, Norwich, NR13 3AT.
For any privacy question or request, email mail@etl.ltd or call +44 (0)1493 751859.
02 What we collect and why
When you use our contact form we collect the topic you choose, your name, email address, message and, if you give them, your phone number and organisation. We use these only to reply to your enquiry and deal with any work that follows. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
The form is sent to our team by email. We keep enquiries only as long as needed to deal with them and any resulting business relationship, then delete them.
To stop the form being abused, we keep a one-way, keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself) with a count of recent messages. It is used only to limit how often the form can be sent, never to identify you, and it is deleted automatically within 48 hours.
03 Cookies
The contact page sets one session cookie. It holds a security token that proves the form was sent from our site, and it is deleted when you close your browser. It is strictly necessary for the form to work, so it does not need your consent.
Staff who sign in to manage the website also get sign-in cookies. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
04 Other services we link to
The map on our contact page is provided by Google. It only loads if you press “Show map”, and Google may then set cookies and receive your IP address under its own privacy policy.
Our customer survey and issue report forms are run by Jotform, and we link to our pages on LinkedIn, X and YouTube. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply once you visit them.
05 Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop or restrict using it. You can also object to how we use it. To make a request, email mail@etl.ltd.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
